I had a set of pliers but it was still a pain in the arse. It was either treble hooks or a new plastic every 5 casts. They were thick. Might have just been that day. It's the worst I've experienced.

I've never caught trout when the ladyfish are that thick. I would have mover or opened a beer and tried again later.
