Maybe under a rookie contract, he would be correct. $12M in 2015 almost gets you Sam Bradford or Newton (both at or around $13M). Would give you Dalton, Luck, RG3, Wilson, etc w/ room to spare.
What's he's probably looking at is Brady's contract has been worked over so many times that his average salary is $11.4M over the life of the contract. But, anyone around sports knows that's more of an anomaly.
