I don't think so - this snake is not dead.

This is what is known as a "ghost snake" If you look closely at the head shot pic of the snake, you will find that you are being hypnotized/mesmerized by it into thinking it is dead. All the while it is planning an attack that will come when your guard is down, perhaps late in the night as it slithers into your dreams to deliver it's deadly poison.

Though the injury was unintentional, the OP should be afraid, very afraid.
