I've thought since Jamie first decided to go to Dorne that he probably won't make it back alive. It just seems like an easy diversion from the book with some shock value for D&D to pull off.
I don't know the context of the quote. I didn't read the interview, just the article that SP posted on page 2. It mentions the interview, but doesn't link it.
I hadn't been reading the Hodor thread. There is some serious hostility going on in there.
