I fairly recently got an SP3.
Once the initial interest wears off, you're not going to use it in lieu of a laptop. But, if you commit to the great productivity tools (pen, pen in conjunction with OneNote, etc.) it can be very powerful.
Jury is still out for me as to whether I'll get as much out of it as I hoped. I do like it though, and certainly get more out of it than a typical tablet.

ive never heard anyone say that
I def use it as my laptop
