Moose maybe more crazy than bears.
Definitely. My wife and I were hiking along Lake Josephine and heard something in the brush along the lake. It turned out to be this guy.
We kept some distance and stayed behind trees and he didn't really care about us. But further up the lake was a large group of people that had just gotten off the boat that crosses the lake. They all headed directly for the moose, out in the open and talking loudly. The moose lowered it's head and charged through the middle of them and off into the woods. Really didn't get that close to anybody but scared the crap out of them, as they deserved.
For planning take a look at:

It covers the highlights pretty well.
Getting good lodging now is going to be tricky. It's well worth it if you can get a lodge in the park but they usually sell out quickly and this is very late. It's been said but if you can do this in September it will be a lot easier. Also been said but get to Going to The Sun road as early as humanly possible. The Logan Pass trail at the top is worth doing. Very crowded but still worth it. There's a very good chance of seeing mountain goats and bighorn sheep.
My favorite hike in the park is Iceberg Lake at Many Glacier. It's fairly long, around 10 miles round trip. But the elevation gain isn't that bad. When we've gone we've camped at Many Glacier Campground. It's my favorite campground in the US, period. And it's not easy getting a spot. You have to get there extremely early and even then it takes luck.
Glacier is just a great National Park. Outside of Alaska it's the best place in the United States, IMO.
