SSD 500GB > HDD 1TB
Why don't they over any SSD version in these consoles? Not only that, XBONE users can't easily swap their drives like PS4 users.

Price and minimal performance difference probably. I know someone did tests with the PS4 and the SSD wasn't that big of a difference. A Hybrid drive was actually the best value. 500GB is running out fast on these consoles though.

In 2015, game consoles should offer at least 2tb of hd space. The games are close to 50 gb a piece.

The kicker for me is that even physical versions install to disc.

I installed a SSD in my PS4, it does load games a little faster but it also differs from game to game. Just the snappy feeling from having an SSD installed was worth it for me.
Are XBONE users forcing Microsoft's hand here since they do not have an easy upgrade option like PS4 users have?

This is annoying.
Install to disc but still need a inserted to validate you are the unique owner of that license/key when online.

I doubt they are forcing it. I think this is just the natural evolution of where it was going. Like I said about, rumors are Sony is about to offer the same thing. 500GB these days is really unacceptable. Load times suck but that't pretty much a console thing that has been an issue for a while and probably will be for a while longer. Atleast the PS4 UI is much quicker and smoother than the PS3 UI was.

It's because the data read speeds are too slow to stream the data off the disc.

I get why, but it kills storage still

The only thing that's different on the new Xbox controller is the headphone port, right?

Stop being poor and buy an external HDD.

That's what's in mine, a 1TB hybrid. Happy with it.

How much did that cost you?

Yeah, but they cache it. So you could load new maps, lvls from the disc but that increases load times which we hate.
The only thing the discs are used for are online validation of key/license. Say you sell the disc, it doesn't store your key like a digital download, you validate with a disc. This allows you to sell ur physical copy and allows the current owner of the media to be the only user with that key online in multiplayer.

SSDs are nearly .45/GB. What are hybrids at, .15GB?
The savings are there but SSDs might drop near .35/GB later this year, might want to wait.
