Assuming they were trying to win the series, it was actually a pretty good strategy. Houston and Stony showed that we don't have much of an advantage in game 3.

I doubt the coach used the word spot when he came up with the game plan. He just didn't want to pitch his best pitcher against the best pitcher in the country. I'm pretty sure the game I watch didn't remind me of a team that was spotting anyone anything. LSU was just the better team but it was still a pretty sound strategy.
