I could have gotten food stamps and welfare for years while in school. But you know what, I didn't. Again, just because one can be a leach, doesn't mean they should.
To the poster who explained the 10k dues, I agree with you. It appears you lost something of monetary value. Not just an inconvenience.

I don't agree with a lot of companies that filed claims...but they aren't wrong for it.
I also doubt you could have gotten welfare as a student and I don't think welfare is the best comparison here anyway.
