I brought an old Ambassador on a 7' redfish rod with 30# power pro onto a buddies boat one time just for shites and giggles. Talk about a fight once I hooked a snapper after the 2oz sinker finally got the pogey down! Like hooking a 10lb catfish on an ultralight while brim fishing.

The rigs I am bringing tomorrow are ambassadeur SX7700 cl reels with 80 lb braid on penn tuna sticks. The reels are on the light side but should get the job done until i can replace them. I inherited them from my father. A penn 330gti is up to most bottom fish you will encounter and is pretty cheap. I also have two fin nor lethal 100 spinning reels on penn blue water carnage jigging rods that i am bringing along.
