Has anyone seen this before when their gun has jammed?

I was trying to put a squirrel out of its misery, since I ran over its back legs about 100 yds before my driveway.
I fired once, and reached down to remove the mag and clear it, when I realised it had jammed. My .22 does this when I have too many rounds in the mag. It did this to the bullet/cartridge. I've never seen one bend like this.
The .22 is a composite/mag fed Savage Arms from the 1960s. You've all seen them. Really common model.
Should I be nervous about that ammunition for any reason? Is this just something that shows I haven't fired as many rounds as I would like, because I would have seen this if I had?

Switch ammo and pay attention to how many rounds you put in the mag. Explosions with projectiles are nothing to frick around with
That looks like you jammed a too full mag in the gun way too hard

I've seen 22 boolits do things similar to that.
Last year I had a factory loaded 30-30 case rupture.
Never even knew anything happened until I picked up all my brass of the ground.
None of my shots sounded different or went out of the group.

Did you have too many rounds loaded in the mag this time?
Did the fired round eject normally?
What kind of ammo were you using?

Very common for a .22 semi-auto to do this. Part of the .25 ACP's development was to answer this problem.
