To my fellow LSU alumni and Tiger fans, I'd like to point something out that you're all overlooking.
As a citizen of Lafayette, I can say that the "guido" stigma attached to Lafayette has developed into full on "hipster". Though the "bro/guido" lifestyle is still strong in the community, the hipster movement has taken over.
Take away what you'd like from that. As for me, I think it shows how impressionable the people are when it comes to fads. So to any Cajun fan that says "ohh we don't have all of the t-shirt fans like LSU does...", you're only lying to yourself. I've been here since Bustle was around. When that "hold on to the roap" campaign came out alongside a breakout season, the bandwagoners were out in full force.

fads never die in lafayette. a few people still wear z cavaricci and turtlenecks, a holdover from the 80's.

Spot on for the most part. I would like to point out that most of the Guido baws that I've come in contact with have been from new Iberia, erath and other outlying areas to the south .
I still don't get the hipster thing but it seems to be widespread in certain circles
