Meh, I may be ignorant but in my opinion, Nashville is an awesome place to go to college, or be a young professional, but not live when you're in your 30s with a kid.

As a former resident of Nashville in my 20s before kids, I agree with this.

If you are looking at the suburbs, you basically have three choices.

Franklin/Williamson County -
What the brochures and realtors will tell you: the quintessential happy family area. Great schools, beautiful neighborhoods.

What anc will tell you: If you want to be surrounded by debt millionaires and play the keep up with the Joneses' game, Williamson County is for you.

Mount Juliet
What the brochures and realtors will tell you: Nice little area east of Nashville, not as convenient as Franklin. Pretty good schools.

What anc will tell you: Very underrated. Not as fake as Williamson County, some nice neighborhoods in the Providence area.

Sumner County/Hendersonville
What the brochures and realtors will tell you: Hot area, growing. Home prices are a bargain. Good schools.

What anc will tell you: Be careful. Some parts of Hendersonville (Station Camp HS zone) are great, others are white trash mecca (Hendersonville HS zone)

you do realize williamson county is more than just pockets of 'super subdivisions' right?

no no and no. i would never be able to handle the traffic. i like being able to sneak home on my lunch break and hendersonville doesn't support that if you work in downtown nashville.

Well anc is way off. Williamson County was surveyed to be one of the most affluent and well educated counties in America. It was right behind Huntsville, Al. There is some fake money sure, but most of it is real

If this were true we wouldn't have the lowest short sale/foreclosure per county in TN. You sound a little bitter/mad poor.

Love Mt Juliet Providence area, but it's trac builder after trac builder and 40 to and from city work commute is brutal

Hendersonville is a nightmare
