I like the movie. I find it charming. It's not generally laugh-out-loud funny, but it has a sort of timeless quirkiness that reminds me of a skewed perspective on growing up in small-town South. Even if it does take place in one of the fly-overs. (Idaho, right?) There's very little plot to speak of, but anyone growing up in small-town South knows that also has very little plot to speak of.

People either truly love this movie or hate it there is no in between
