In Rome, if you are near Piazza Navona, try Enoteca Cul du Sac. It is a small casual wine bar but the food is very good. If you are in to Italian wines, they have an encyclopedic list. In the Cinque Terre, try Il Gambero Rosso in Vernazza. It is a small but atmospheric family run place on the harbor across from the church. The fresh seafood dishes are delicious and the pasta is homemade. We had a very enjoyable lunch there. In Naples go for pizza. That is where it was invented.
