Not true at all. Rolle quit football to study overseas and then came back a year later for the draft. He slipped in the draft after a year off because teams questioned his commitment but he was given every chance and he eventually quit, as was expected.

And was still one of the best at his position.

Teams only asked about his academics, and he was adamant that he only wanted to play football

False. He never made a start in the NFL. He came around right when the whole concussion thing was being discussed, and teams feared he would be an advocate for brain injury.

He didn't quit. He got cut. He was on the Steelers' preseason roster one year and was a fan favorite.
