Ump dictates that buddy. Sorry. Regardless of what just happened, ump tells you to get back in the box, and you yell that you WERE (I still don't get that.....it's like they were arguing two different things), and you then mockingly place your toe in the box, you'll get run.

That's ridiculous. It's asinine that an ump can change the outcome of a game because his feelings are hurt.

Is anyone arguing that umps don't have the power to run you? Doesn't change the fact that he escalated the situation and showed his arse.

O I get it. It's OK for the ump to act like a immature teenager and slow up the game; however, if you give even a hint of displeasure with his teenage behavior--even if it's just body language--the ump should be able to continue to slow up the game and impact it even much more by tossing the displeased player out of the game.
