Jesus, the 2nd person in this thread bashing bear hunting and completely jumping to conclusions.
Yeah, that's not what he did. Try sticking to what was said instead of what you think was said.

That's exactly what was said.

quote:

Shooting a trophy deer because you figured out its habits and ambushed him is an accomplishment. Having a dog tree a bear, walking up under the bear and shooting it (to me) isn't much sport

Not a single person said anything in this entire thread about shooting tree'd bears, much less compared it to deer hunting in any way, yet they were compared together in the same statement.

quote:

Don't understand hunting bear at all myself. Not much sport with gun, maybe with knife or bow.

Again, jumping to conclusions assuming everyone is sitting their hunting bears with rifles over bait. No, he didnt specifically say over bait in that particular quoted post, but it was insinuated by comparing it to deer hunting in this post...

quote:

Having a dog tree a bear, walking up under the bear and shooting it (to me) isn't much sport. jmho. same as high fenced paid hunting for deer. no accomplishment. again jmho.

He jumped to conclusions about tree'd bears and that automatically being the way someone would want to hunt bear, then put it down by saying it's not an accomplishment (it's not) by comparing it to patterning deer and hunting them. No one said they wanted to hunt tree'd bears, he just assumed that.

Also, why do you always have it out for me in these threads?
