re: Pet for 6 year old

We have a hamster for our nearly 6 year old. He's worked out pretty well. The first 6 months were dicey because we brought the little bastard home and my genius wife stuck her hand in to pull him out the box and got bit. About an hour later the kid(4 at the time) went in there and got her arse bit too sticking her hand in it's cage. I called him vampster for a while there. Fast forward six months and he's very tame. We put him in the ball, hold him and let her pet him or feed him. Watch him bury shite in his cage, etc.

I like him because unlike the fricking cat we had; I don't have to spend $1,000 on it when it gets sick. He just gets replaced.
