Basketball will be ending soon and I want to start getting into baseball again. I have no prior allegiances so I will be starting fresh. What are the exciting teams in the MLB these days?

Dodgers are a pretty exciting team IMO. Some of the league's best pitching.

It depends on what you are looking for. You are much way too much stock into batting average. Average is not a very important stat at all. Baseball analytics absolutely destroy football analytics. You will find that Fangraphs is phenomenal and that PFF lags in comparison because the concept of human-scored game scores by too many people is a dreadful concept.

Depending on a few factors, you can eliminate a lot of teams.

What time zone do you want the team to be in?

Do you want the pitcher to hit or have a DH (or not have a strong opinion)?

These two questions should essentially pick the division for you.

Do you want talented young hitters? Cubs

Do you want talented young pitchers? Mets

Do you want absolute mashers? Blue Jays

Do you want an exciting team that could be very streaky due to their extreme makeup of three outcome guys? Astros

Do you want to watch the best player in baseball? Angels

Do you want players you remember from years ago? Yankees

Do you want a loaded team across the board? Dodgers, Nationals, Cardinals, Tigers

Do you want to watch a team that runs a lot? Royals, Reds

Do you want to commit suicide? Phillies
