This. There are only a handful of guys at ESPN with the clout built up to say whatever they want. He was one of em, but I guess he pushed it a little too far.

He trashed Goodell for many of his laughable disciplinary rulings and "investigations" and got himself in a shitload of trouble for that. Saw it mentioned somewhere else that maybe ESPN was afraid the NFL would give them a really bad Monday Night Football schedule if certain ESPN personalities kept trashing the commissioner. I can only assume that meant Simmons.
