A club isn't a play toy, like me and others here have said. The German model prevents them becoming a toy that an owner or chairman just just neglect. Even at Bayern the fans can vote out the board members if they are not happy with how the club is being ran. Clubs mean so much to people it's just a concept lots of American don't grasp.

And I think that's all great. It's still completely removed from the FFP question though. I think clubs should be able to self determine how they are run and how much money is going to be made available to spend on wages and transfer fees among other things.

Yep. Americans have 4 or 5 teams across many different sports, so most just can't understand what it means to give your absolute all to one club.
Although, Seattle is probably the outlier. Those motherfrickers would show up in droves to watch anything.
