I find it hard to believe that this guy could not only figure out a genetic evolution (or devolving as the case may be) and its endgame a thousand years in the future, but then be able to convince the government enough to sanction basically kidnapping folks, freezing them, and then covering it up (it seemed like the Secret Service was in cahoots with him since they were obviously trying to cover up his wreck).

Don't blame the messenger. That's what teacher said.

I'm willing to bet ol Doc is the one that created them in the first place.

This is what I'm thinking. I don't think the guy figured out that humans would devolve and wipe out the rest of the humans. I think he and the government created them to "thin the herd" so to speak, and create a better society.

That's a pretty solid theory. I agree that there has to be some pretty hardcore evidence for the Dr to garner that kind of support so early on.

This is shamalammadingdong. I'm not taking anything at face value. Maybe it's the year 4000 maybe not. Who froze the Doc, who unfroze him? How is he still alive if he's been running this project from the beginning? Can he time travel? Maybe the town is in a time dialation bubble. I'm not convinced of anything yet. Why kill people for asking questions. Just tell people the truth, most would be grateful to be alive. Some things just aren't adding up.
