I see, although one is much more likely than the other. Im actually OCD about that as well. I always take my knife and stick it in my r/h pocket specifically for the occurence that I would be trapped in my vehicle due to a wreck and had to cut the seatbelt. My thinking is more about putting the truck in water though.

Has anyone ever told you how irrational this fear is?

how many "burned to death in a wreck" stories have you heard versus "thrown through a windshield and died" stories?

Just playing the odds, I wear a seatbelt.

Most people who die in car wrecks don't burn to death. Even so, sometimes it isn't the seatbelt that traps them, but the car doors are too damaged to get open.
