As I said before the only people that are being forced to be BR hands are the guys with zero experience and are looking to get started off shore. Lots of good hands started in the galley. If you have experience, you're (theoretically) worth a damn and won't have to start as a BR hand. Why would Ensco hire some guy with zero experience offshore, chasing cranes all day long just to find out he's a POS when you can hire guys who already have experience for those positions and properly vet new guys in the galley, have them come outside and train and then hand pick the ones you want outside? It sounds like a good idea to me.

I just dont know anyone who would hire on working in the kitchen making 13/hr. And every other company hires people with no experience as Roustabouts.

It's obviously working for Ensco because they're a huge company.
