I'm not justifying anything you frick. BP has set up criteria for which they are paying. If I fit that criteria, then I'll take a check. I'm calling out posters who think they are holier than thou:

It's right there. Why even bring it up if you weren't close to the guy? Why use his death as part of your petty little argument for feeling like you deserve money?

Sure they established a criteria. Just because you meet it doesn't mean you should take it. Taking monetary compensation because you were slightly inconvenienced is fricked up. You could have still went fishing in the billion acres of water Louisiana has that weren't affected. I couldn't fish out of bayou corne for a while because of the sinkhole. Should I send a bill to Texas brine?
