Well, I don't know about begging, but why wouldn't he reach out to his close 2nd choice?
And to the others, it's the "a bird in the hand" type issue. If this elite talent asks to sign here, you think Jones would tell him no so we "might" get a mid year transfer? Why? Wouldn't that transfer have to sit out a year?

Jones wouldn't turn down a top 50 talent, at a position of need, on what may be the most talented roster he will EVER have as a HC at LSU, to hold out for a "potential" mid year transfer. The holding out for a mid-year transfer never, and still doesn't make any sense.
Bottom line: Unless he is a troublemaker (which there is no indication of) or LSU knows they will be getting a BETTER frontcourt prospect to join next season's roster, if Dickerson wants to come to LSU Jones will welcome him with open arms.
