whatever ball is on sale. in all honesty unless you are a single digit handicap (which i know most of TD is) then the ball makes no difference. I buy cheap ones because it makes losing them less painful. I typically use Nike's

I beg to differ. Distance control is one of, if not the biggest thing, amateurs struggle with. That 10-12 yard difference in one ball to the next could be the difference in several strokes during a round. Different balls have different feels off of a putter head too. Those extra feet on putts could turn a decent round pretty shitty if there isn't any consistency.

No way you can say only a single digit handicap is influenced by the ball. Some of those cheap "distance" balls feel and sound like hitting a glass ball. Can't imagine trying to control something like those.
