I don't know if it goes that far but its obvious that Betty and Henry are on the outs. She puts up with him because he's stable and he puts up with her because she's good looking and that helps his career. I've been waiting a few seasons for something to bad to happen to Henry. I just don't like him.

That scene was basically Don trying to reach out to Betty to see if the door is still slightly open and Betty shut it. Don's trying to find something in his life that he attached to and now that his business is gone, he has nothing.
