Regardless of guilt or innocence, LC and his agent screwed this up big time.
If he is involved, what difference does it make what round he got drafted.....it's not like the team was going to sign him until the issue was resolved anyway.
If he is not involved, why not fly back and try to clean this up as quickly as possible to clear his name.

this is exactly correct.
Assuming he's completely innocent, he should've immediately flown back to BR and been banging on the police station door right after this story broke (still days before the draft) to tell the cops all he knows.
Right after that, call a press conference on the police station steps to publicly announce that he's innocent and that he went to the police immediately to help with their investigation.
Then he should've talked to each NFL team to explain what he just did.
Again, that's the stuff an innocent guy would do to still give himself a chance at being a multimillionaire.
ETA: I truly hope he's innocent, but some of his actions have been a bit puzzling.
