Not really. If he is drafted and it turns out that he had no involvement in the murder, he can force the team that drafts him to give him a contract commensurate to where he should have been drafted. If they don't want to pay the fair market price, they forfeit the pick. Collins can then negotiate as a free agent next April. That's better than signing a 4 year contract for 4th round (or worse) money this year.

Waste 1 year of life to get more money seems alot better than some 6th rd contract that youre stuck with for years.

If innocent hs being fricked royally. Missing out on millions and one play on shitty contract can end a career. Wait a year get your money and go from there
