I think the rioting is despicable but I think there is something up here and always have.
Once this is over and done with I think they will find the arresting officers pinned Gray down with a knee to the neck and then Gray got a "rough ride" while handcuffed in the back of the van. IE they killed him in the course of only meaning to beat his arse for making them run.

IIRC the guy was holding a gun to his head and threatening to shoot himself, the cop actually saved his life and he wasn't really hurt. I think he had shot, or at least fired at, some people before that.
