So how do you have a competition between the two? They're completely different. Mariota will struggle in a pro style offense. Mett obviously can't run a spread option team. Titans are handing the starting job to Mariota according to Whisenhunt, so are they completely changing their offense? Yet they see Mett as a backup who will be forced to play at some point during the season because Mariota will get hurt. So do they completely change their offense again when that happens?

Either Mariota will learn or not learn a pro style offense as opposed to those gay sideline flash cards, I still say Mariota struggles and they split the starts this year.

Still - Amari Cooper is going to be awesome and would immediately be the best WR on the team, but this has Joey Harrington 2.0 written all over it.

Dear God. Literally the only thing him and Mariota have in common is that they went to Oregon.

They're decades apart. How old was Mariota when Harrington was drafted? How is Harrington's failure relevant to Mariota as an NFL QB?

Mariota might end up being a failure but it will only be because of what Mariota does. Nothing else will determine that, especially not what other players have done in the past. Quit taking the easy route and justifying your beliefs by ghosts of former busts.

ETA: Mariota was in the third grade when Joey Harrington was drafted. But yea, Harrington 2.0 for sure.
