There is no excuse to be fat no matter how busy you are. That being said, if I see someone in their 20s or 30s that is "ripped", I assume they are either single, no kids, or have too much time on their hands. Sometimes I am proven wrong, most time that holds true. As you get older time becomes scarce, it just does. Unless working out is your true escape and hobby, your spouse is very similar, and your work demands allow it, you are going to have to make some major trade offs. Throw in kids and you may only have 2-3 hours a day to do everything else (dinner, life adminstrative stuff, house stuff, etc). Weekends are different but very similar. If you think you can workout with a toddler(s) running around, you should write a book on it. It's not easy and they need a lot of supervision. It can be done but it has to be super deliberate. Waking up early means going to bed early.
