Do many people under age 60 smoke nowadays? It's mostly verboten in public any more so it's hard to tell. If you have to get your nicotine on, vaping seems to have vastly fewer health effects than smoking, although they'll probably find something bad it does to you eventually.

More than you think. It's more of a subcultural phenomenon than anything else. Social pressure dictates the acceptance of tobacco use immensely.
