Yes. Because Schefter got the story from people in the NFL itself. Teams already knew about it. If Collins had suddenly dropped down the board on Thursday night without an explanation of why teams were concerned about him, it would have been an unexplained mystery.
NFL teams are concerned so it is a story. Now, how it was reported is another matter and draws understandable scrutiny.

The real problem is click-bait "journalism" and people who only read the headlines of those articles and forming their opinion.
