Simmons is not a huge scorer. He plays a team game and passes the ball. But if he gets 7 assists a game that would not just be a big impact but incredible. Most elite point guards only average 5 to 6.

I think that with all of the double and triple teams Simmons will get, he will get fouled a lot. I think his scoring will depend a lot on how well he shoots free throws.

Yes, for those who have not seen him play, I understand the expectation is that as the No. 1 recruit and a kid many draftniks say would have been a top 2 or 3 pick, is that he's a scorer.

He can and will score but his biggest strength is his versatility and high BB IQ. He can handle the ball like a guard, and sees the court very well and not only does he see it well, he gets the ball to the right people at the right time.

He needs to work on his perimeter jumper, but from all I've seen and heard I have no doubt he will.

I know we've all been burned over-expecting, but this kid is the real deal IMHO. Mickey and Martin were good players for us as frosh for the most part. I just think Simmons is a different kind of player and on a different level as a frosh.

He absolutely is, just because he also looks to pass doesnt make him NOT a huge scorer. Simmons still averaged damn near 30 points per game this year on the best high school team in the country with a handful of Div-I signees.

I hate to use this comparison but he is very very similar to Lebron. He can drop pretty much whatever he wants whenever he wants but is so good with the ball in his hands is more than capable of getting everyone else involved and with to the attention on him can put up PG assist numbers.
