Redfish, his girl and I went last night. The location was an old artist commune at The Red Haus on 2820 St. Claude Ave. It was a really cool location. If those walls could talk...

The first, Duck Crisp : Honey Roasted Duck | Plum sauce | Crispy wonton

Second, From The Harvest : Grilled pears | butter lettuce | crispy herbed goat cheese | sliced almonds | charred lemon vinaigrette

Third, Bison Andouille : ground buffalo | braised collards | caramelized onion & potato | creole mustard | roasted garlic

Hunter's Special : Roasted venison | dirty wild rice | fried shoestring sweet potatoes | hibiscus glaze

5 - Gatherer's Desserts : dark berry cobbler | streusel topping | vanilla malt ice cream

Dinner was very good, there was nothing I didn't enjoy. There were a couple of things that I would have changed slightly, such as the grilled pears were cold, if they had been at least luke warm it would have made the salad better, the goat cheese really made the salad. No pics of the dessert but it was incredible, not to heavy and not to light great end to the meal.

PS: Before the comments on the ketchup, it wasn't Heinz. That stuff was spicy and very good....

Dinner was fantastic. I enjoyed each and every course. I agree with Wick on the pears. They were fantastic but, had they been warm, that salad would've been a 10/10.

They had a signature drink that had a great taste but was hard to get down. It had rum, mint, strawberries, basil and some balsamic vintar maybe? I enjoyed it but it was a little too chunky to drink, if that makes any sense.

The venue was really cool and obviously had a rich history. The house was apparently home to some really wild parties

Here is a pic of dessert...

I'm going to the upcoming event in BR. The one thats themed with Southeast Asia by Way of New Orleans or something like that
