I thought this might be like the "Student Resource Officer" or at most like Campus Police, but the way the bill reads, they would have the power to select and "deputize" anyone they wanted outside of local law enforcement organizations. They would not report to the Shelby County Sheriffs Office or State Troopers like officers at other schools. They would only be beholden to church officials.

My sister is on the faculty at the high school. I'll have to ask her what's going on in greater detail, but she's a true believer and would never speak against the school or church.
