I'm not a CPA either but I am a senior in accounting and am in my second tax class right now. Obviously, that doesn't mean much but I'm just saying I have been studying this stuff the past two semesters. I'm pretty sure you can deduct miles from one job to another even if they are different jobs. See the link.

This isn't the same thing as driving from one job to another. Basically, almost any time you go to/from your house, the miles aren't deductible.

And btw...the IRS Publications are very useful. They lay everything out nicely and have great examples.

Just Google "IRS Publication topic" and there is probably a publication available.
