I think we're stacked at the CDM position, and we have quality in the CM to let Bradley move forward. I believe Jurgen believes that Bradley is a playmaker who has the tools to really make shite happen at the top. Anyone who watched the Sweden match and heard what Jurgen was saying can see that he loves Bradley. Always compliments him and talks about his ability. It's clear that Jurgen has huge respect for Bradley's game and his approach.
Sure, Bradley was a shell of himself in Brazil, and it isn't untrue that his greatest moment in the tournament came from deep. That said, we've seen what he's capable of when he's playing comfortably. Jurgen seems to think that Bradley is someone who can control the game and be that guy on the attack. I'm personally a Bradley fanboy so I think that he could really grow into an animal there if we play the 3-5-2 the way we did against Mexico. He can keep possession and his vision is wonderful when he's feeling comfortable.
Obviously, I want a true 10 to emerge, but at the moment, that player isn't really there. Bradley's played in one of the most technically sound leagues in Serie A, and I think that we really don't have many options otherwise. Long term, he's not the answer, but for the Gold Cup, it's good to get him comfortable up there. I'm just hoping one of our young guys emerges as a real 10 to allow us to play Bradley deeper.
