I've had one for almost a year and it's great. I just cooked a pork butt on it Saturday. I agree with the others that it's hard to maintain a low temp sometimes but I know there are a lot of modifications that will help...I just haven't bothered trying them yet.
I will say that the Akorn can cook anything from low & slow to searing hot. In fact, I got mine so hot one time I almost melted the plastic cap on top. So with that being said, I would definitely recommend the Akorn.
