Every major drive manufacturer has a downloadable test suite of some sort. I wouldn't waste a huge amount of time on it though or you might wind up paying the tech more than a new computer would cost.

If it's a hard drive issue (bad sectors), you probably have a dying drive. Download Marcrium reflect (it's free), buy a new drive, and clone it. No use trying to repair bad sectors,that only buys you some time.
