If I'm being honest, I'm not worried about Lester at all.
Me either, and no one else should. He had a set back with his dead arm and he's just catching up.

This wasn't an easy series for the Cubs. The Padres are a vastly improved team and they threw their three best arms against a very young, learning lineup.
I looked at this series as two teams that could be competing for the same final wildcard spot. Would've been nice to go 2 for 3. So I'm a little bummed about it.

I am not worried about Lester much, but a strong seven would make me breathe a sigh of relief. Whoever is the staff ace is just a name, but it definitely could be Lester. He was basically a top 10 pitcher in 2014.
Edit: I am glad the Padres are doing well. They are fun to watch and San Diego is an amazing city. I am glad they could get a winner for once.
Double edit: the SPLOOSH emporium is anchored. frick this gay earth.

Lester will be fine. He looked a lot better yesterday than his other two starts. He had significantly better command of his cutter. The pitch that Middlebrooks hit out actually wasn't a bad pitch. It was a cutter that was down and in and Middlebrooks just got it. His next outing should be a very competitive one.
This team is playing really well right now. The only thing I'm worried about is how long will Neil Ramirez be out and when will Justin Grimm be back. Those are two very important pieces for one of the best young bullpens in baseball.
Nothing else about this team concerns me.
