Lester sounded somewhat encouraged after the game that he feels he's getting back to where he needs to be, while still acknowledging that he's the weak link of the pitching staff right now. It's twitter so it means nothing but not surprised to see some cubs fans already starting to turn on him, I'm guessing its the bleed cubbie blue crowd.
Disappointed in that series, only because it felt like friday was stolen from the cubs, an sunday was just one of those little things missing here and there (or same old cubs stuff). RISP opportunities missed and not putting a pitcher away when he was on the ropes.

If I'm being honest, I'm not worried about Lester at all. I hate that he gets called the "ace" all the time by the media and anyone calling the game, because that honor is 100% Jake Arrieta's. But I think Lester gets it. He seems like a dude that knows he's not throwing well; even still, he's kept the Cubs relatively close.
This wasn't an easy series for the Cubs. The Padres are a vastly improved team and they threw their three best arms against a very young, learning lineup.
Great fact from the game yesterday: the Cubs see the most pitches per AB in MLB. A lot to like there...that kind of patience will translate.
ETA: Mendy really needs to go to Iowa.
