I know what you mean but they are more incorporating politics in their music than being anti establishment

Why would they want to be inducted? Surely those 3 butt stewards would want to talk badly about anything mainstream (except themselves).

Their politics comes accross as whiny. I never got any really deep or interesting statements out of it. Their stuff just wasn't thought provoking. Just a tired "America sucks" sort of routine. Someone like Dylan or Lennon did a good job of dealing with politics in music.

Also the entire shift seemed like more of a rebranding than anything really genuine. Sort of like they just "sold out." They fell into that pop punk emo thing that was popular at the time complete with a big change in style with the eye liner and stuff. Maybe I'm just being one of those fans that complains when a band develops. I don't really like that attitude of people who were always worried about "selling out." It seems like a shallow position, and I don't want to be there. I also was probably just starting to get too old for that kind of thing around that age anyway.
