Considering the stage, how he played earlier in the game, this is nuts.
Lots of players don't have the confidence to throw that many passes to the rim. Josh Smith has never lacked confidence.

Against Amare and Dirk in the pick in roll, every player should be throwing it to the rim. Josh Smith is just a much more willing passer and unselfish player than almost every other big man.
And no way was that a flagrant. One of the worst calls I've seen.
