This was my thought also. He did himself a disservice by declaring so early. He should have waited to see who else was going to declare.

Doesn't matter who declares early. At the end of the day he will go overseas.

Getting drafted 2nd round vs not getting drafted really isn't a big deal at all. There is no guaranteed money for 2nd round picks. No guaranteed roster spot. All that happens is one team get's rights to you before anyone else. Not the end of the world that he doesn't get drafted.

He just wanted his quickest ticket out of here. Only hurting himself.

Martin was patient and left when his stock was the highest. Mickey did the opposite, as his stock plummeted, he decided to leave. To me he was never interested in the school thing, probably why he went to Prime Prep where the primary focus is basketball, not school.

All he had to do was come back 1 more year and play a complete year at a high level and he's at worst a sure fire 2nd round pick with the possibility of sneaking into the 1st.
