Do you honestly get some sort of self worth out of arbitrarily attaching yourself to a teams success AFTER they have achieved it, and then claiming to be apart of it somehow? Because thats sad haha.

What fans of teams that have won at least one title don't do that?

Well I take a little pride in, say my Saints fandom, as I was a fan for 20 some-odd years before they won anything. And im from the area.

I agree.

The whole you can't be a fan of a team that isn't close to where you live argument has been really played out at this point, and this is coming from someone who roots for all the hometown teams.

For me, if someone claims a team for 10+ years as their team in that particular sport that is long enough for them to go through good times and bad for 95% of professional franchises. I don't care how or why they became a fan of a team, just claim that same team and don't waiver from it and you are good with me.
