Curious about your opinion on Klopp managing other potential clubs?

Some of the discussion in the thread centered on those Dortmund squads being so filled with very talented, eager to impress players that were almost all 21-24 years old.

That it's now many of veterans who are under performing (or look a step slow to pull off that press) when they're mainly in their primes at 26-27yo seems a bit concerning, especially considering Klopp's transfer market has been mainly buying attacking players who excel in space on the counter attack when all opponents but probably Bayern are being more cagey and forcing Dortmund to break down a good defensive shape.

Somebody said it earlier. I think Inter would be a great place for Klopp, given they apply a bit of patience and let him buy properly.

I do know that Florentino Pérez is really high on Klopp, and serious overtures were made, during the CL tie of two or three years ago. I also think Klopp is smarter than to drop himself in that den of wolves (the only reason The Simple One was given some time was due to the suffocating dominion of Barça).

I've watched Dortmund, and I wonder if he Klopp's style has the same effect as Bielsa's, in that since it requires elite fitness the players are worn down in later seasons. In their 2010-2011 title winning season, they had only sixteen players with ten or more appearances, which indicates that they relied heavily on a very fit first team. The next season they only had 18 players make ten or more appearances. The next season they had the same number. I don't know what the average is among other squads, but Arsenal had 23 players with ten or more appearances in 2010-11and had 22 in 2011-2012. It might have to do with the same players being completely worn down, and it might have been a problem that could have been avoided if Dortmund had a deeper squad.

What was interesting was that Dortmund seemed to have no plan B when the high press was exposed, as one would think the immediate reaction would be to set up the team in the low block and wait for counter attacking opportunities, which would suit Dortmund's players well. I don't know if Klopp tried that, but I do know the team looked tired. That said, they have had a massive turnover in the squad with important players leaving, so this season might have been an aberration. So I don't know what to think of Klopp. He might have had bad luck with long term injuries to Gundogan and Reus as well as two out of form CB's and a static midfield. I wish he would have stayed so we could have seen what to make of him. I do think he'll be successful immediately wherever he goes.
